Another Day in Paradise

With Joaquin out of the race (as he was still hitting the bathroom every other minute), Tim and I decided to go to the monkey bay. It’s supposed to be a really nice beach next to ours, that you can reach by a short jungle trail (~1h) and which is inhabited by lots of monkeys (hence the name). But then Maria (the Bavarian girl) told us, that she went to monkey bay the day before and that the trail was barely existing and that you had to force your way through the jungle with no …Read More

Next Stop: Singapore

So after Dubai went I went to Singapore. The flight was shorter than expected (about 5:30-6:00h), so with all the starting, landing, food etc. I didn’t get much sleep and landed pretty exhausted in a rainy Singapore. To get a Visa I had to fill out some kind of a form with my passport number, name, city of birth, how long I wanted to stay, where I would stay etc. Naturally, as I didn’t made any reservations, I left the field for “where I would stay” blank and went to the customs counter. Dubai, Desert Safari

As I already mentioned in my last post, I got bored at looking at all the shopping malls, so I decided to book a desert safari on short notice. I got through and managed to arrange a pick-up at the mall 30 minutes later. (As it turned out later, that 4 minute phone call cost me …Read More

First stop: Dubai

While flying to Dubai, I had a 3h stopover in London. It was quiet boring to wait alone at the airport in London and they ripped me off, as I ended up paying 7€ for a small sandwich. So a bad start for the trip. Then I couldn’t find any check-in counter for Virgin Atlantic Airways, so I skipped that step and went right to the boarding gate. They were a little surprised when they asked for my boarding pass and I didn’t have any, but then they checked me in at the gate. So …Read More

New Years Eve in Krakow

A while ago some friends asked me, if I wanted to join them on a road trip to Krakow, Poland, for new years eve. By that time I thought I would be long gone for my trip around the world. But guess what, I was wrong. My first flight would be on January, 19th, so short before Christmas I asked them, if they had a seat left. At first they didn’t, but a few days later they told me, that they were able to get a larger rental car and I could join them. Hurray! …Read More
